LHRW – An Overview

LHRW – An Overview

The 9th annual Langstone Harbour Race Weekend was held on 26th – 29th May 2017.  Thank you to all the competitors for making it fantastic weekend and all those who volunteered to help run the event, both on and off the water.  The LHRW committee are already discussing ideas for next years event, but if you would like to put forward a suggestion for how to make the event better, please email lhrw@tudorsailing.org.uk with your ideas.  The tides for both May Bank holiday weekends are looking impractical to run the event, so we are likely to be looking to host the event over a weekend.  If you are interested in hosting a class open meeting during the 2018 LHRW, please email the committee as soon as possible with your request.

The event is hosted by three sailing clubs which share the waters of Langstone Harbour; Locks SC, Langstone SC and Tudor SC. The event invites dinghy sailors from all across the south coast and beyond to compete in the series of exciting races held within the harbour.

It’s not all about the racing! Each club takes turns to host a social event over the weekend and hopefully there will be something to suit everyone’s tastes.

We are really lucky to have such loyal supporters and sponsors, who typically donate some wonderful prizes. The organisers try to award these throughout the fleets, with prizes given not only to those who stand on the podium.

The event normally enjoys entries of 60+ boats, with a cap of 100 boats placed on the event.
