Tudor Sailing Club, Kendalls Wharf, Eastern Rd, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO3 5LY
The entrance to the club is situated on the northern end of Eastern Road in Portsmouth. The sign for ‘Tudor Sailing Club’ is not very clear, however the signs to ‘Portsmouth Watersports Centre’ will lead you to us, as we are neighbours.
If approaching from the north, take the first left hand turn at the traffic lights after crossing over the bridge from the A27 / Eastern Road interchange.
If approaching from the south, the traffic junction prevents you from turning right off of the Eastern Road. Instead, take a left hand turn, passing the Morrison’s supermarket to your right, go all the way around the round about and go back upon yourself, getting into the right hand lane. This filter lane will allow you to cross over the junction into the entrance of the Kendalls Gravel Works / Portsmouth Water Sports Centre / Tudor Sailing Club access road.
Locks Sailing Club, 6 Longshore Way, Southsea PO4 8LS
Locks Sailing Club can be reached by driving south along the Eastern Road into Portsmouth from Tudor SC. After passing through several sets of traffic lights you will pass Portsmouth College and the ‘Goals’ football centre on your right hand side; continue south along the Eastern Road. Further on, you will reach another junction with the ‘Good Companion’ Pub on your left hand side, again continue straight on. After passing the cemetary on your right, get in the left hand lane and turn left onto Milton Road at the traffic lights. Continue past St James Church on your left, until you reach the mini roundabout. Turn left at this round about onto Locksway Road. Following this road until you reach two pubs on either side of the road, ‘Ye Old Oyster House’ on your left and the ‘Thatched House’ on your right. Parking is often problematic on the main road, so turn into the ‘Thatched House (Fayre & Square)’ Pub car park and aim for the gap in the trees, with the pub behind. On reaching the pub, take the left hand turn into a large rutted gravel car park. The footpath which leads over the bridge crossing the old lock with take you to Locks SC. If entering the club from the road, please note the clubhouse is tucked away out of sight from Longshore Way, with an entrance via a narrow driveway between two houses.
Langstone Sailing Club, Langstone Rd, Havant, PO9 1RD
From Tudor SC, turn right onto the Eastern Road and head north to the A27 interchange. Turn right onto the A27 and get into the third lane in order to continue on the A27, past the A3 and towards Havant and Chichester. When the A27 becomes just two lanes, exit via the next junction at Havant and turn right at the roundabout, heading southwards on the A3023 (Langstone Road) towards Hayling Island. Just before you reach the road bridge onto Hayling Island, you will find Langstone Sailing Club on the right hand side.
